A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
